context of the Mayan Popul Vuh (Book of the People),
decapitated but animated floating heads represent Hun Hunahpu,
the father of the Hero Twins before his resurrection as the Maize
god. Hun Hunahpu and his twin brother were ballplayers summoned to
Xibalba - for making too much noise - and subsequently decapitated
by the lords of Xibalba in an unfair competition.
Princess Xquic,
a daughter of a lord of Xibalba, chances on Hun Hunahpu's head in an
enchanted wood. After telling her his story, Hun Hunahpu's decapitated
head spits on the princess. His saliva makes her pregnant with the Hero
Twins, which also causes her banishment from Xibalba to the surface
world for immorality.

the Maya talk of Xibalba being a place below ground. Maybe we can take
them literally - perhaps an ancient civilization was compelled to build
underground - globally. There could be many reasons for this -
environmental devastation being the first to come to mind. Maybe, like
in the movie "The Planet of the Apes" (1968), there was an
ancient nuclear war ...

(August 9, 2010) In Robert A.
Heinlein's science fiction novel "Farnham's
Freehold"
(1964) a southern, segregated American household is blasted into the
future by a Russian nuclear strike. They find themselves in a new,
tropical and technologically advanced civilization that has many of the
features of Roman civilization - specifically a rigid slave system.
However, in this civilization whites are the slaves and blacks the
oligarchs! The family is compelled to switch social roles, while their
black servant is elevated ...
When I first read this book
in college it felt strangely familiar; Farnham's Freehold is
probably an unacknowledged source for The Planet of the Apes.
However, I felt as if I already knew the story in a more uncanny (or
dreamlike) way.
The
tropical black overlords are more black Indian or Melanesian that
African - more "Pacific African". Heinlein was probably intuiting
events of 15,000 years ago. ...
As
an aside, in addition to contact with ancient Africans, ancient
Mesoamericans may have also had contact with ancient Chinese. Samples
of Olmec art look oriental (although all the colossal heads look black
African) - and there is a strong resemblance between Mayan glyphs and
glyphs from the Shang dynasty in China (1600 BC - 1000 BC.)

(1968) - although, here we're left hanging. Hergé takes us to ancient
Celebes Sea ruins (western Pacific Indonesia), but we never really
learn anything about them. The story ends on a mind-control/UFO/Nazi

The
current ABC series "Lost" hews closely to this storyline. Although, I
think the underlying source is an ancient and enduring myth perhaps
preserving actual ancient memories.

- all quotes attributed the
Admiral Byrd after Operation High-Jump.
Running these quotes through
google brings you to "hollow earth"
websites. Apparently after Operation High-Jump, Byrd made an expedition
to the North Pole where he flew into a temperate climate and was hosted
by "Aryans" with advanced technology. This is a theme in Philip
Pullman's "Golden Compass" series (1995). It's also the world of
James Hilton's "Shangri-La". But is it literally true? To me it reads
like a contemporary Xibalba.

one of the sources for the Byrd expeditions in my collection of books: "The
Hollow Earth"
by Raymond Bernard (1964). A fairly comprehensive survey of the
subject. Read as a myth or archetype, the "inner sun" discussed here
makes sense. ... But the book is also a fun survey that includes
discussion of Shambhalla, Atlantis, subterranean Brazil, Roman UFO
reports, Eskimo and Scandinavian legends ("Thule Ultima") and more ...

(Dec 10/2013) According to "Trinity and Beyond: The Atomic Bomb Movie"
(1995) a documentary about US nuclear testing before the 1961 ban on
above-ground nuclear testing, the US conducted 331 open-air nuclear
tests from 1945 to 1961 - mostly in Nevada and the South Pacific. This
documentary has spectacular recently declassified video including:
surreal video of a cannon-fired nuke in Nevada as well as rare footage
of low and high altitude nukes. One of the high altitude nukes sent an
EMP (electro magnetic pulse) that disabled all communications for 8
hours from New Zealand to Hawaii.
There is also video of the
fearsome Hydrogen bomb. The first H-bomb was too heavy to lift into the
air and erased a small island in the Pacific. Also included are rare
video of a nuke missile blowing up on the launch pad and anti-submarine nuke testing.
The overall atmosphere in "Trinity and Beyond"
is festive - especially in the south Pacific paradises of Bikini atoll
and Christmas Island. The take-home message, for me, is nukes are
survivable. The 1950's were a nukes-friendly decade.

Admiral Byrd mission to Antarctica, and the surge of UFO reports in the
1950's, one has to ask - were these 331 above ground nuclear explosions
really tests, or was there an unreported nuclear war in the South
Pacific in the 1950's? Why, for example, would the US fire high
altitude nukes?

(August 6, 2014). There is a lost piece of American history in Brazil that may or may not have some relevance here: the Confederados.
It
seems that Brazil has had a Confederate aristocracy since 1865. They
were invited to Brazil by a branch of the house of Braganza (Portugal). And unlike
the American South, until 1889 and the abolition of the monarchy,
Brazil had an actual nobility with 239 Titles (non-hereditary) ranging from Duke to
Baron. In this sense, moving to Brazil was an upgrade for the Dixie
aristocracy.

incorporated the Confederate flag into the municipal coat of arms
(though the largely Italian-descended population removed it some years
later, reasoning that descendants of Confederado now comprise but a

visited the city of Santa Bárbara d'Oeste and the grave at the Campo of
a great-uncle of his wife Rosalyn. Her relative was one of the original
Confederados. Carter remarked that the Confederados sounded and seemed

(August 10, 2014) According
to the New York Times, the current pretender to the throne of Brazil is
Prince Pedro Carlos Bourbon Orleans e Braganza of the Petropolis branch
of Brazilian royalty. Although there is another pretender, Prince Pedro collects a 2.5% tax
on all real estate transactions within the old city limits of the Imperial City of Petropolis. Only a sovereign has the authority
to collect tax.

(2/24/2010) Escaping a
subterranean high tech world is the subject of George Lucas's first
movie "THX 1138"
(1971) which I just saw.
This
movie raises more questions than it answers. For example, why did human
society move below ground? ; and - who is in control? It appears that
the hero (Robert Duvall) is part of a slave underclass ruled by robots.
THX 1138 is more of a visual poem than a regular movie.
I enjoyed that Lucas cast a
black person (Don Pedro Colley) for a major role; - but he's a "magical negro"
- the negro who shows the hero the way out of hell; - a common
Hollywood stereotype. (In this case he is literally surreal - a
hologram come to life.)
There
is also a highly unusual - for science fiction - sexual subtext to THX
1138. The subterranean slaves are chemically castrated; i.e. chemically
desexualized to improve their work performance. I heard Lucas refer to
the subterranean world as an "ant-hill" in the DVD extra's. Hollywood
has traditionally suppressed black male sexuality; that's probably the
subtext of the "magical negro." (And this is made explicit by the
hero's use of pornography featuring holograms of black male and female
porn stars.) Suppression of male sexuality in Hollywood has moved
beyond black males today - see for example the 2 most recent James Bond
films.
The new
action star is no longer expected to bed a starlet; he's a
super-serious, super-violent fighter of terrorism - see for example
Jack Bauer in 24. (Even the current Vampires are chaste - see
the "Twilight" series.) It's called "cockblocking" in "Entourage."
I think a simple explanation is, in a time of a black president, what's
good for black men is good for all men - and black men, as a rule, do
not have sex on the silver screen. Sex (outside marriage), like
smoking, is now highly transgressive - mostly a gay or lesbian thing:
it's a return to the normal (pre-1960's) anglo-saxon state of affairs.

and the Stars"
(1956) - my favorite book in high school. Here the technology serves
the humans, but like in THX 1138, the humans have severed relations
with nature - including their sexuality.
(10/12/2009) Conventional
Physics does not allow a new continent above the north pole. However,
dimensional portals, wormholes,
and "multiverses" are all common in science fiction. And they are not
strangers to new theoretical areas of Physics like "string theory." The
dream image accompanying this post was a hole in the space-time
continuum - a "sinkhole" in the fabric of our planet.
In
high school, we were always assured that faster-than-light travel is
not possible. But this seems not to be true. A wormhole connecting two
points in space allows faster-than-light travel. Travel between planets
seems to be possible, and maybe even occurs naturally, without human
intervention.
Only
Einstein - level Physics is necessary to create a wormhole or "Einstein
- Rosen" bridge. How this occurs can be found on wikipedia; however an
insight that came to me independently is that space-time came be bent
using anti-matter ...

with the 1995 Japanese Anime "Super Atragon" which I was
co-incidentally given a few weeks ago but just got around to watching
...
In
this 2 part anime, which was discontinued, a subterranean race emerging
from the north and south poles enters into armed conflict with a United
Nations force. The subterraneans are vaguely ancient Egyptian, but
female and with highly advanced technology. They are split between
having human-mermaid romances with humans and performing large scale
demolitions of human armed forces ... The series ends with a planned
trip to the underground world in a ship incorporating human and
subterranean technology.
Another recent Japanese
anime, the 3 episode (adults-only) "Aika R16: Virgin Mission,"
(2007) incorporates similar themes.

Dream of visiting a National Geographic museum on National Mall. There
are several large globes on display. They are the raised-surface kind
that show mountain elevation levels. One of these globes displays two
vast unfamiliar islands in the Pacific ocean. They are each
Australia-large. Equatorial Pacific and North; - i.e., they extend as
far north as Japan or Canada.
My
dream psyche has here presented me with a vivid depiction of what looks
like the 1737 Philippe Buache map of a large southern landmass
consisting of two islands. See Graham Hancock's "Fingerprints of the
Gods,"(1995) at 19. However, I saw the 2 islands further north -
"between the poles," as it were ...
A
dream analysis would see the two large continents as Colossal heads
1& 4 which are discussed on this page. However, this is not the
first time I have dreamt of two large continents in the Pacific. In the
90's I dreamt of them as the center of world power. The off-limits
abode of the "King of the World." I think Islamic and Asian folklore
has a better grasp of this idea than the West

approximately here in
the South Pacific.

photo could probably solve this riddle. Here's an example: A composite
satellite photo of Antarctica. No large unexplored islands! (Unless
you consider Antarctica to be the large unexplored islands ... )
(June 18, 2010) A central
theme of Hancock's "Fingerprints of the God's"
is catastrophic pole-shift: i.e. a planetary re-alignment of the
magnetic poles within human memory. The theory is that within the last
15,000 years the north and south poles were in what are today warmer
latitudes - and an ice-bound continent like Antarctica was also in
warmer latitudes. A warmer Antarctica would then be the theorized
"Atlantis." And there is some evidence that a dry Antarctica is
actually two vast islands.
Moving
the planetary axis is too vast a leap for even my imagination. However,
a large enough asteroid could conceivably do it ... And this could
explain the large amounts of evidence for a green Sahara - green enough
for Hippos and Giraffes in the Algerian Sahara as seen in the "Tassili
Frescoes." (See page
55 of this web site.)
Or
maybe there's a more glacial movement in the position of true North ...
Maybe over thousands of years there has been enough change in the
position of the planetary axis to affect the climate of Antarctica and
the rest of the planet.

25/09) This dream could also be literally true: i.e. the globe with the
unfamiliar islands is another planet - not Earth. My rational mind is
trying to force them into the Pacific. The dream islands were too
large, however. One of the islands was as large as the African
continent ... Japanese anime has a well developed theory of the lost
continent of "Mu", - maybe this is what I saw in the dream.
(Nov. 26/09) The concept of "Mu"
was popularized by James Churchward (1851-1936) - a British colonial in
India and the publisher of "The lost continent of Mu: the motherland
of mankind" (1926). He claimed that he learnt of Mu - a lost
continent in the Pacific - from an Indian priest:

... Churchward claimed that "more than fifty years ago," while he was a
soldier in India, he befriended a high-ranking temple priest who showed
him a set of ancient "sunburnt" clay tablets, supposedly in a long lost
"Naga-Maya language" which only two other people in India could read.
Having mastered the language himself, Churchward found out that they
originated from "the place where [man] first appeared - Mu." The 1931
edition states that “all matters of science in this work are based on
translations of two sets of ancient tablets” the clay tablets he read
in India, and a collection 2,500 stone tablets that had been uncovered
by William Niven in Mexico. ... Churchward gave a vivid description of
Mu as the home of an advanced civilization, the Naacal, which
flourished between 50,000 and 12,000 years ago, was dominated by a
"white race," ... and was "superior in many respects to our own" ... At
the time of its demise, about 12,000 years ago, Mu had 64,000,000
inhabitants and many large cities, and colonies in the other

"Atlantis"
discovered by a diver off the coast of Okinawa in 1986. Massive stone
formations that resemble underwater pyramids and ceremonial structures
and that are older than 5,000 years old.

(Nov.
27/09) By "white race" Churchward probably means "Aryan." The founder
of modern day Turkey, Ataturk was a big fan of Churchward - Turks trace
their lineage to ancient Scythians - the original Aryans from central
Asia who displaced Ionic Greek rulers in ancient Bactria (modern day
Afghanistan) - see page
64 of this website.
(Scythians spoke an Iranian tongue - Modern day Turks speak a Turkic
tongue which was a later import from the Mongol invasion.)
However,
I am certain ancient Indians were closer to black Africans than
"Aryans." As an example, I would cite the principal Hindu gods - who
are traditionally blue-skinned: i.e. much darker skinned than the
normal Indian.
(Nov 27/09) For a Hollywood
example of an Einstein-Rosen bridge see: Contact
(1997). In this movie Jodie Foster's character Dr. Arroway travels
through a network of pre-existing wormholes - created by an unspecified
alien civilization. The science seems solid; it's based on a 1985 novel
by Carl Sagan.
From
a practical standpoint, there are only minor problems with this system
- a journey to the center of the galaxy and back took 18 hours of Dr.
Arroway's life, but only seconds of earth time. Financially, however,
the system was very expensive to set up - hundreds of billions of
dollars.
In
regards to pre-existing wormholes - science fiction, mythology and my
personal intuition suggest they already exist on the moon; in addition
to other possibilities like the poles; - the relics of a pre-existing
human civilization.

Finally, I've always found it curious that ancient Egyptian maps were
inverted - i.e. our south was their north and vice versa.
(October 30, 2009) Also note
the orientation of the 3 giant pyramids at
Teotihuacan,
Mexico. It's the same as the orientation of the 3 pyramids at Giza,
Egypt- suggesting a single source culture. The source culture is almost
certainly black African.
The Giza pyramids are in a
"bent arrow" shape - mimicing the stars of "Orion's
Belt." The fourth and "balancing" star is Sirius - the star of
Isis. See Robert
