This is the 6-foot tall plaster working model of a seated President Abraham Lincoln in the West building of the National Gallery of Art that Daniel Chester French used to design the marble Lincoln Memorial (1922). This working model is signed October 31, 1916 and resides at French's country studio Chesterwood Estate and Museum, in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. It will be on view in Washington D.C., until February 2010 - commemorating Lincoln's 200th birthday. I call this digital photo, taken in March 2009: "Lincoln."

	This is the plaster working model from another angle. At the right of the working model is a photo of a 1915-1916 copy by French of a plaster life mask of President Lincoln. The original life mask was cast by Leonard Volk in 1860. I call this photo, also taken in March 2009: "Lincoln - 2."
