Beyond the foyer, under a crisp winter sky, is this view of the exterior of the Kennedy Center. Outside what many writers have referred to as a "pared-down Lincoln Memorial," are trees, fountains and an impressive view of the Potomac river. On view are; - the Georgetown waterfront, the Watergate apartments, the National Cathedral and Roosevelt Island on the Virginia side of the river.
