On the right is the Joan of Arc monument (1922) in Meridian Hill Park. I took this shot minutes before taking the Canopy shots on page 24 (summer 2000). This shot adds some perspective to the size of the park. The Canopy trees, or Canopy walk, can be seen below the outstretched knee of Joan of Arc's horse.
