This is shot of an abandoned schoolhouse at the corner of Harvard and 11th Streets, NW - in the Columbia Heights neighborhood. It was probably once an elementary or junior high school: - that's the feeling one gets from looking at it. A stone engraving dates the building at AD MCMXII, or 1912.

This is a doorway to the left of the shot above. I was drawn to shooting this set of photos when I recognized a resemblance between the architectural details of this building and similar buildings on or around the grounds of the National Cathedral. - It's the same overall style, even though this neighborhood has been depressed for 30 years or more.
